Casemade (Turned Edge) Binders

When you want a binder that exhibits exceptional quality and class, the “olde world” hand-crafted style of a casemade (or turned edge) binders is the ideal solution. They make an impression that will last and enhance your professional brand image. These binders are crafted by wrapping your chosen material over the edges of the binder (hence the name turned edge) and gluing down beneath the inside liner material. Casemade binders are still “hand-made” and are available in a wide range of cover materials such as cloth, real and imitation leather, paper, and some plastics. Add optional touches such as padded board and/or perimeter stitching that sets you apart from the rest. Casemade binders can be beautifully decorated to suit your brand image.

Casemade binders come in a variety of spine sizes and shapes. The standard flat hinged spine typical of most binders is available, of course, but also a creased roundback Euro style of spine is very popular and durable. Any ring metal available can be installed in a casemade binder. In addition to the standard ring binder there are many specialty casemade binders to choose from, such as:

  • Boxed Sets. Consists of a casemade binder with matching casemade slipcase for a very professional and unique presentation.

  • Easel Binders. A ring binder that converts easily to a table top easel for ease of presentation and viewing. Great for use as trade show tool, presentation to a small group, recipe book, etc.

  • Magazine Binders. Organize magazines under one cover that holds up to twelve publications.

  • “Green” Binders. These eco-friendly binders are made of the raw chipboard, which is recycled paperboard, for that rough-hewn earthy look and feel. Die cut and then decorate with foil stamp, deboss, screen print, or digital print. Finish with a ring metal and you have function. Go Green!

As touched on briefly, you will want to customize your casemade binder with your graphics and there are many types of decorating that can be utilized on a casemade binder. Some processes are:

  • Silk Screening. This process screen prints color and image onto the chosen material. This is a versatile way of printing that allows for more than one color of ink to achieve the design you want. With the industry standard of Pantone Matching System (PMS), we can screen your image and match your desired ink color easily to give you the finished product you want.

  • Foil Stamping. You can do this process alone or along with silk screening to create a multi-dimensional design. Foil stamping adds depth and metallic shine to your art and the foil is available in gold and silver as well as many other colors and metallics, matte and shiny.

  • Debossing and Embossing. Deboss your design into the material with either blind debossing or foil stamp and deboss. Debossing is into the material and embossing is raising up from the material. Either can be done as blind (no color) or with foil.

  • 4-Color Process. Print your graphics and logo in high quality 4-color process. The litho printed paper sheets are laminated prior to wrapping onto a binder. The lamination can be either matte or glossy and gives your binder protection and added durability. Or, for smaller quantities and economical prices, we offer digital printing 4-color process.
